New House Extension – Moorside Lodge, Ilkley

Client: Mr Armstrong
Architect: Jonathan Bone Architect

Following the successful build of the new detached garage, we were appointed to construct a side porch and first floor side extension above the existing attached garage at Moorside Lodge.

The existing attached double garage was converted into a kitchen and dining room with a first floor side extension above to create a new bedroom and shower room.

The extension was constructed in Yorkshire stone with quoins and random walling to match the existing house.  Elsewhere, the walls are rendered with stone cills and lintels.

Doors and circular windows are in timber to match the house and the new detached garage.

The pitched roof is of reproduction stone slate with stone kneelers, water table, finials and gutter corbels.

Following construction of the side extension the upper section of the existing tarmac driveway and sub base will be carefully lifted and re-laid with porous block pavers.
