Environmental Policy
Ellison Construction Ltd is committed to conducting its business with respect for the environment, complying with current environmental legislation and improving environmental performance.
This policy applies to all employees and contractors working on behalf of the company, in head office and on all construction sites.
Top Management is committed to establishing, implementing and maintaining an Environmental Management System (EMS) that;
- Is appropriate to the context of the organisation and takes into account risks and opportunities that could have an environmental impact
- Provides a framework for setting and reviewing environmental objectives in line with our operational and strategic direction.
- Includes a commitment to the protection of the environment, including pollution prevention, sustainable resource use, and enhancing environmental performance.
- Includes a commitment to fulfil all compliance obligations, including relevant UK and EU environmental legislation, and regulations specific to our business activities.
- Commits to the continual improvement of the EMS to enhance environmental performance over time.
- Requires regular management reviews to evaluate progress toward environmental objectives and the overall effectiveness of the EMS.
- Is communicated and made available to all employees and relevant interested parties, as appropriate.
Company Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain appropriate procedures and guidance to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Conduct site-specific risk assessments to identify and minimise potential environmental impacts.
- Implement controls, training, instruction, supervision, and communication to ensure environmental responsibilities are understood and fulfilled.
- Segregate and recycle waste wherever practicable to reduce landfill and improve resource efficiency.
- Ensure emergency response procedures are in place and regularly reviewed to reduce the environmental impact of any on-site incidents.
All Ellison Construction personnel understand the requirements of the Environmental Policy and are committed to the processes put in place to improve environmental impact.
In addition to all UK and EU environmental legislation, Ellison Construction Ltd complies with all legislation and regulations specifically related to its business activities.
Ellison Construction constantly monitors its environmental performance and implements improvements as and when appropriate. The environmental policy is reviewed annually in order to ensure its continuing suitability and is available to interested parties, either on request or via Ellison Construction’s website.
