Cumberland Infirmary

Ellison Construction have recently completed our largest project to date for regular client Actiform Ltd, providing the complete groundworks package for Cumberland Infirmary’s new modular endoscopy centre.

The scheme began with transforming the former quiet garden, a landscaped area built into the gradient of the hospital site, into a level building platform. This required moving over 3,000 tonnes of earth and constructing up to 3m high retaining walls along the site perimeter.

We installed approximately 700 metres of drainage and cast more than 100 concrete foundation pads to support the modular structure.

Once the building was craned into place, we undertook the surrounding landscaping works, including reworking and resurfacing the adjacent car park, constructing access ramps and pathways, and reinstating a quiet garden to the rear complete with benches and planting. We also carried out all associated walling and fencing to complete the scheme.
